Lake Coeur d’ Alene Ship Wreck – The Harrison

We’ll take a boat from the 3rd Street Marina (for directions, see tubs Hill) on a short, 10-minute ride across the lake to the Harrison, a 165’ steamer that sits in an easy 12’ to 45’. Poke around the wreck, along side and look in at the resident bass. A dive light helps to peer inside. Head north in shallow water to look at the tons of junk – everything for washing machines to a sunken rowboat. If the owner of the nearby dock is home, he’ll come out and offer you a beer (say NO, thanks) and tell you his version of how the Harrison managed to sink out in front of his house. I’m told that his story isn’t true, but it is colorful. This is an easy dive for any level, and the boat ride is free (except for a gas collection). This will be a fun evening!

We need to leave the dock by 5:45pm, so get there early!  Also, the boat will only hold a limited number of divers.
