Liberty Lake

From I90, take the Liberty Lake exit, go south to Sprague, turn left and follow the road around the lake about 4 miles to Liberty Lake Park.  There is a small parking fee. It is a bit of a walk to the water, so I like to suit up at the truck and walk down.

This is a SHALLOW dive.  I mean, we’re talking 8 to 15 feet! But it’s different from most local dives. There’s lots of plant life, almost like swimming through kelp forests. We’ve seen tons of fish here, mostly at night, like bass, perch, crappy, trout and catfish. There’s also turtles and crawfish. And because it’s shallow, you get lots of bottom time. Use a flag here and watch for boats!

There is a swimming beach here, playground toys for the kids, bar-b-cues and a big grassy area. We will definitely picnic and bar-b-cue here before and after the dive.
